President Jedlicka initiates a discussion on liberty at the King's College London

On the 5th of February Mr President gave out a presentation about Liberland as a guest of the King's Libertarian Society at one of the most prestigious universities in London. He briefly introduced background of the whole establishment process together with the achievements Liberland had reached till now. Afterwards, students got engaged in a discussion regarding topics such as diplomatic relations with other countries, the decentralized government system or further development of the ecosystem.

The presentation began with an introduction where President Jedlicka explained he has found Liberland because of finding out the current political system cannot be changed but rather re-established. During that he expressed concerns about regulatory policies of European Union having a negative impact on the economic growth and the overall welfare of its' members.

President then explained the legitimacy of the Liberlandian claim on its' territory, former terra nullius, which is in accord with the Montevideo Conventions.

Vast part of the speech was given to the current operations on the field of diplomacy, blockchain technologies including the decentralized government and current operations in the surrounding areas one of which is the Free Trade Zone giving an opportunity to incorporate a firm in Liberland.

According to the words of Mr President provisional Congress should be launched within a few months with a starting number of 7 Congressmen slowly expanding onto the final 21. Rules of meritocracy should underline system of voting into the Congress giving an incentive to voluntarily submit taxes for the citizens.

During the latter part of the event a discussion including questions on multiple topics had taken place. Many students were interested in getting familiar with visions of the Free Republic of Liberland for the upcoming years and the relations with the European Union. President pinpointed Congress being the key element in most of the further development. According to him most of the effort will be now focused on building solid e-services for both citizens and e-residents. This ecosystem will then expand possibilities of Liberland for a negotiation on the international field.

The end of the evening was highlighted by giving the 1st Class Merit - the highest state award to Patrik Schumacher for his credit in development of architectural projects of Liberland on behalf of Zaha Hadid Architects.
